Daryl Nardick, PhD, PCC
Daryl Nardick, PhD, PCC, is a leadership coach and consultant for higher education. Prior to launching her consultancy practice, she spent twenty-five years working with higher education leaders on individual development and organizational change initiatives. A representative list of her most recent client institutions and organizations includes: Purdue University, Georgetown University, EDUCAUSE, University of Texas, Dell, POD Network, University of South Florida, University of North Texas, U.S. National Library of Medicine, St. Edward’s University, and New York Institute of Technology.
Daryl’s passion for organizational change and leadership development stems from her time leading the Higher Education Market Development Group at Apple. Witnessing and participating in cutting edge institutional change was transformative for her. This experience led her to study higher education and organizational change and then to pursue a career in leadership development.
Daryl earned a PhD from American University, a graduate degree from the University of Chicago, and a Leadership Coaching certificate from the Institute for Transformational Leadership at Georgetown University. Before creating her coaching and consulting practice, Daryl served on the leadership team of Georgetown University’s Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship as Director of Strategic Initiatives.
A practitioner of mindfulness meditation and yoga, Daryl teaches mindfulness to women who have been incarcerated. She is an avid swimmer, hiker, and traveler. She has authored articles on the impact of IT on individual and organizational behavior. Daryl currently resides in Austin, TX.
Garry Sanders, MPA, PCC
Garry Sanders, MPA, PCC, is a Leadership Fellow with the SAIL Institute and an executive coach serving both individual leaders and teams in all industries, with a focus in higher education. He is Principal of AssistLeadership, LLC, a leadership coaching and consulting firm, and sees his mission as a coach as being a ladder–a steady presence to help clients as they discover their strengths and courage, and to serve them as they transform themselves and their organizations.
He was trained as an executive coach at Georgetown University, and is a professionally certified coach (PCC ™) with the International Coaching Federation. Garry is a Leadership Coach for the Academy for Innovative Higher Education Leadership, a collaboration between Georgetown University and Arizona State University, and he coaches higher education leaders across the country. He is an adjunct, graduate school instructor at The Johns Hopkins University.
Garry served as the executive vice president and chief operating officer of The Research Foundation for SUNY, leading cross functional teams and large project and program implementations for the SUNY research enterprise. He began his career as a United States Presidential Management Fellow. He has served as a faculty member for the National Council of University Research Administrators’ Executive Leadership Program and focused training for NCURA on leadership style and influence.
His coaching practice is national in scope, and includes clients at major university centers, insurance companies, law firms, state agencies, and not-for-profit agencies.
He is a product of the State University of New York, having received his baccalaureate from the University at Buffalo and his Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University at Albany. He is a certified practitioner of The Leadership Circle Profile™ Certification for Individual Leaders and Teams, a 360 degree assessment tool. He is a trained facilitator of the Professional Strengths, Values and Story Survey™ designed to help people understand what is most meaningful and motivating to them in their work lives and how to leverage these strengths for the good of their institutions and teams.
Darcie Milazzo, M.S., PCC
Darcie Milazzo, M.S., PCC, is an organization builder, change leader and experienced higher education executive. She helps leaders inspire, innovate and lead transformation for the sake of a better world. She is the Director for Leadership Development for the Academy for Innovative Higher Education Leadership and the founder and principal of the Penn Cannon Group, a leadership development consultancy based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Darcie served as the Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives at Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies, where she was responsible for identifying, developing and leading mission-centric, cross-disciplinary programs. In addition to creating programs and educational experiences for leaders in health care, for-profit, non-profit and government organizations across the world, Darcie co-created the Institute for Transformational Leadership at Georgetown University and served as one of its first co-directors.
As the Associate Dean for the Center for Continuing and Professional Education at Georgetown University, she led the academic affairs and managed the business operations of the Virginia campus of Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies, serving more than 1,000 students annually. She designed and led the change initiative to transform the School’s continuing education division into an
organization recognized for educational excellence, efficiency, student-centered operations, and positive financial performance. She was also responsible for a portfolio of executive leadership development programs.
At The Ohio State University, Milazzo was principal investigator for $4.75 million in annual grant funding. She created and launched the first of its kind, state-wide intermediary organization to provide training and consulting to workforce development organizations across the state. A natural collaborator and strategist, she worked with the Governor’s Workforce Policy Board and state departments of Job and Family Services, Development and Education to carry out the legislative mandates of the Workforce Investment Act. Her contributions resulted in significant increases in the state’s performance on federally
mandated performance measures.
Darcie earned a Master’s degree in higher education administration from the University of Michigan and a bachelor of science in organizational communication from Ohio University. She holds executive certificates in Organization Development and Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University. She has earned the Associate Certified Coach credential from the International Coach Federation. She is also certified to interpret Myers Briggs Type Indicator. She is a certified practitioner for the Leadership Circle Profile for individuals and teams and holds a Professional Coach Certification (PCC) from the International Coach Federation.
Darcie, her husband Matthew and two young sons live in Pittsburgh.
